2025/26 Trials: Important Information

Blacktown City and District Cricket Association (BCDCA) will be holding opening trials for the 2025-26 season .

There is a two step process this year to registered as per Cricket NSW rules.

You will need to register with Cricket NSW to trial in Blacktown. You will then need to submit an expression of interest to trial with us.

The key changes from Cricket NSW are noted as follows:

Every player, regardless of if they are staying at their current association or moving association, will need to nominate one (1) association (prior to trials) to Cricket NSW.
- This will allow for CNSW to centrally manage players who have trialed or will be trialing in the upcoming season. It will allow for us to identify players who have trialed in multiple associations which therefore would deem them ineligible.
- Every player must nominate prior to their trials.
- Please be aware that trialing for more than one (1) Association is not permitted.

Removal of the 31st of March cut-off for players to move associations.
- This allows for players to move associations throughout the off-season without the requirement for dispensation.
Removal of the three (3) matches in Premier or Shires Cricket rule in the Watson Shield.
- CNSW views the Watson Shield as an opportunity for all players to compete on behalf of their association, similar to other age groups in the NSW Youth Championships.
- There are still requirements that will need to be met for players to be deemed eligible.
Removal of dispensation for Premier & Shires Cricket as the player must play for the last association they qualified for or played with.
